Can my employer legally dismiss me while I am pregnant?

In most cases, NO! ❌ Under Irish employment law, dismissing an employee because of pregnancy is automatically unfair and may also be discriminatory under the Employment Equality Acts.
However, your employer can dismiss you if:
✅ The dismissal is unrelated to your pregnancy (e.g., gross misconduct, genuine redundancy).
✅ A fair and lawful process is followed, ensuring no discrimination occurs.
⚠️ Example: If your role is made redundant while you're pregnant, your employer must prove the redundancy is genuine and not linked to your pregnancy. They must also consider offering you a suitable alternative role before making you redundant. 🚨
