Is my employer allowed to ignore a formal grievance?
07/02/2025

No! Under Irish employment law, employers must follow a fair and transparent grievance procedure when concerns are raised. This means they should:
✅ Acknowledge your grievance in a timely manner
✅ Investigate the issue fairly and objectively
✅ Provide a response and, if necessary, a course of action
Ignoring a formal grievance could amount to breach of contract, unfair treatment, or even constructive dismissal if it forces you to leave your job.
